The Irish Wheelchair Association's 'Annual Music Gig 2017' took place on Friday 28th April in Racket Hall, Roscrea kicking the May bank holiday weekend off to a mighty and lively start.
This years gig was the fourth of its kind hosted by 'Outa Diesel' as a joint fundraising event for Irish Wheelchair Association (north Tipp) and Clonaslee Wheelchair Basketball Club.
The Nenagh Brass Band opened this years gig in style adding a new Genre to the event. Michael Doran (IWA member from Nenagh) who plays percussion with the band delighted us as always. We wish to thank the band for travelling to Roscrea, for sharing their talent and opening this years gig.
Our Local Guest Musicians included.........
Anthony Bourke straight from a hospice fundraising gig earlier in the day with Bill Smith, Dinnie Quirke who added a taste of rhythm and blues, Bobby Fahy of 'Passing Through' along with newcomer Billy Costello, Geraldine Campion, Seanie Gleeson, IWA member Michael Hayes (Moneygal), Clonaslee player Charlie Oregan and surprise guest Ollie Grace who all shared their talent, adding variety and heaps of entertainment to the audience who danced the night away.
A special word of thanks goes to Michael Creagh (Rathdowney) who stood in at last minute as MC entertaining us with poem, verse and song while keeping everything running smoothly.
Lots of local businesses donated spot prizes for our event including; Racket Hall Hotel, Roscrea Leisure Centre, Bernie's Supervalu, Mulrooneys Gala, Clonaslee Basketball
