Roscrea Credit Union Launch Major GAA Sponsorship:
One of the largest sponsorship agreements in the history of Roscrea Credit Union was announced on Friday week last. For the next five years the Credit Union in Roscrea, the area’s leading financial institution will be the exclusive sponsors of Roscrea Hurling Club, the biggest sporting organisation in the area, incorporating all teams from senior to juvenile level.
Speaking on the night of the launch, Chairman of the Hurling Club Mr Bertie Fitzpatrick said the Club was delighted with the sponsorship agreement. He thanked Ray McCarthy CEO of Roscrea Credit Union and Brian King, Business Development Officer of Roscrea Credit Union for all their help and support with regards putting the agreement in place. Mr Fitzpatrick said the sponsorship had come at a very important time for the club, which is currently putting in place a major development plan that will see the club relocate to a purpose built stadia which will boast some of the most impressive club facilities available in the country, once completed. Mr Fitzpatrick congratulated the Credit Union for their outstanding record of generous contributions to the local community. Mr Fitzpatrick concluded by thanking all the sponsors that have supported the hurling club over the year. Mr Fitzpatrick then encouraged all Roscrea Hurling Club, members, players and supporters to support the local Credit Union whenever possible. The Chairman said he looked forward to five years of great success for both organisations.
Seamus Mullaney Chairman of Roscrea Credit Union said that The Credit Union was delighted to be of assistance to Roscrea Hurling Club. Mr Mullaney said the sponsorship represented one of the biggest in the history of the Credit Union, a Credit Union that has contributed so much to the local community. The Chairman reminded those present that this year Roscrea Credit Union celebrates its 40th anniversary. During those forty years the Credit Union he said, has gradually become an “integral part of the local community” and is now firmly established as Roscrea’s leading financial institution with approximately 11,000 members incorporating the town of Roscrea and its many neighboring parishes and villages. Mr Mullaney said the Credit Union was always actively looking for new community projects to support especially organisations that depend so much on voluntary effort. The Credit Unions rescue package for the “Swimming Pool” it’s funding of the community website www.roscreaonline.com, its contributions to local schools, clubs and organisations combined with its sponsorship of festivals in the town in recent years were given as just simple examples of Roscrea Credit Union’s social and economic contribution to the local community. Mr Mullaney concluded by wishing the Club every success both on the field and off the field over the next five years. He said Roscrea Hurling Club had a long and proud history and he expressed his wish that it wouldn’t be long before the club would be right up there with the very best once again.
Treasurer of the Hurling Club Mr Paul Phelan believes the sponsorship arrangement between the Credit Union and the Hurling Club has formally forged a relationship between two organisations that form the heartbeat of the town, one on a financial front the other on a sporting front. The Treasurer said both the Credit Union and the Hurling Club are committed to promoting the growth and development of the community that they represent. The Treasurer thanked the Credit Union for their generous support and assured them that they would be well rewarded for their faith in the club.
Secretary of the Hurling Club, Mr Michael Phelan said he was delighted that the Credit Union had joined forces with the hurling club. The Secretary said that the Credit Union was the bedrock of the local community. The Secretary said he looked forward to what he believes will be a very beneficial sponsorship for both organisations.
Roscrea Credit Union’s sponsorship of Roscrea Hurling Club is one of a number of important announcements that Roscrea Credit Union will announce over the year. The Credit Union is presently considering a number of projects and sponsorships that will benefit the local community. The Credit Union will also announce details of a new mortgage service in the near future which will be of major interest to its members. Details of these projects and new services will be announced over the coming weeks and months as part of Roscrea Credit Union’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
